Connect FM 107.8

📖 About

Connect FM 107.8 (originally established as Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8) is an award-winning community radio station operated by the S. M. Sehgal Foundation, a prominent non-profit rural development organization. First launched on February 28, 2012, with support from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the station was created to empower marginalized rural populations by giving them a dedicated public platform to express their voices and address grassroots development challenges. In September 2023, the studio relocated to the Agriculture Research Station (SKNAU) in Naugaon, Ramgarh Block, Alwar district, Rajasthan, enabling it to expand its transmission footprint across surrounding regions. The station broadcasts daily tailored programming across more than 300 villages covering Alwar and Deeg districts in Rajasthan as well as Nuh district in Haryana. Delivered primarily in Hindi and regional Mewati dialects, Connect FM 107.8 focuses heavily on climate-smart agriculture, water conservation and management, rural health and hygiene, women empowerment, youth skill development, legal rights, and government social welfare awareness. Popular signature shows include interactive series like 'Science in Everyday Life', agricultural guidance programs, and legal awareness broadcasts like 'Talk on Law', which foster active community dialogue through telephone call-ins and field narrowcasting. Under the leadership of the S. M. Sehgal Foundation, Connect FM 107.8 has earned nationwide recognition, including the prestigious National Community Radio Award for its exemplary sustainability model awarded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in July 2023. Grounded in community participation, the station integrates traditional FM transmission with online streaming technology, providing both local villagers and the broader digital audience with continuous educational content, local music, and inspiring community stories.
