📖 About

Akashvani Banswara is a vital local radio station of Akashvani (All India Radio) operating under the ownership of Prasar Bharati, India's public service broadcaster. Established and launched on October 8, 1991, the station serves as a cultural and informational cornerstone for listeners in Banswara and the surrounding southern region of Rajasthan. Broadcasting on 101.3 FM, it bridges the gap between rural and urban communities by delivering timely regional news, current affairs, agricultural updates, and educational programming tailored specifically to the unique needs of the local populace. The programming lineup at Akashvani Banswara is thoughtfully curated to reflect the rich indigenous heritage of the Vagad region, featuring broadcasts in both Hindi and regional languages/dialects. Music forms a central part of its daily schedule, offering listeners a delightful blend of popular Indian and Bollywood tracks alongside traditional Rajasthani folk music and tribal art performances. Through talk shows, cultural programs, and developmental broadcasts, the station provides a platform for local artists, poets, and community voices, ensuring that indigenous traditions are preserved and celebrated. In line with Prasar Bharati's digital modernization initiatives, Akashvani Banswara extends its reach beyond terrestrial FM broadcasting. Listeners can tune in globally via Prasar Bharati's dedicated WAVES streaming platform and official mobile applications. This technological integration allows local residents, as well as the diaspora from the southern districts of Rajasthan, to stay connected to their roots, local news, and cultural entertainment from anywhere in the world.
