Broadcasting on 1458 kHz Medium Wave (AM), Akashvani Barmer bridges the vast geographical distances of the Thar Desert, connecting remote rural populations and border communities with vital government updates, regional news, and public welfare advisories. The station's diverse programming schedule is tailored to reflect the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and distinct linguistic identity of the region, featuring regular broadcasts in both Hindi and regional Rajasthani/Marwari dialects. Listeners can tune into comprehensive regional news bulletins, current affairs discussions, and developmental updates. Music and cultural programming occupy a cherished place in its daily lineup, showcasing a rich variety of Indian film songs, devotional tracks, and authentic Rajasthani folk music that celebrate local poetry, desert folklore, and indigenous art forms. In line with Prasar Bharati's digital transformation initiatives, Akashvani Barmer has expanded its reach beyond conventional terrestrial Medium Wave transmission. Its live audio stream is available globally via Prasar Bharati's dedicated WAVES streaming platform and official mobile apps.
