📖 About

Akashvani Udaipur is a primary broadcasting station of Akashvani (All India Radio) operated by the public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati in the historic city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. Officially launched on January 22, 1977, the station has served for decades as an essential cultural anchor, regional news source, and public service medium for listeners across southern Rajasthan and surrounding areas. Operating from its prominent location near Chetak Circle, the station bridges the gap between rural communities and urban centers by delivering vital information, educational content, and high-quality entertainment. The programming grid of Akashvani Udaipur is thoughtfully curated to reflect the rich heritage, traditions, and linguistic identity of the Mewar region, offering regular broadcasts in both Hindi and regional dialects of Rajasthani. Listeners can tune into comprehensive regional and national news bulletins, current affairs discussions, agricultural advisories, and developmental updates tailored to local needs. Music and cultural programming occupy a central place in its daily schedule, showcasing a rich variety of Indian classical music, popular film songs, and authentic Rajasthani folk music that celebrate local folklore, poetry, and indigenous art forms. In line with Prasar Bharati's digital modernization initiatives, Akashvani Udaipur extends its reach far beyond conventional terrestrial transmission on 101.9 FM. Its live audio streams are accessible globally via Prasar Bharati's dedicated WAVES streaming platform and official mobile applications. This digital integration ensures that local residents as well as the global Rajasthani diaspora can remain seamlessly connected to the voice, culture, and daily updates of Udaipur from anywhere in the world.
