Akashvani Shimla 103.7 FM

📖 About

Akashvani Shimla 103.7 FM serves as the dedicated frequency-modulation service of Akashvani Shimla, operated under the public service broadcasting corporation Prasar Bharati from the hill station of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. As an extension of the historic Akashvani Shimla broadcasting hub, this FM service was established to provide crystal-clear, high-fidelity audio broadcasts of news, current affairs, and cultural programs to the rugged terrain of Shimla and surrounding districts, overcoming the propagation challenges often faced by AM signals in mountainous regions. The station features a rich and varied programming lineup that reflects the unique cultural identity, languages, and traditions of the Himalayan community. Broadcasting in English, Hindi, and regional Pahari dialects, Akashvani Shimla 103.7 FM delivers national and regional news bulletins, classical and light Indian music, traditional Himachali folk songs, and specialized public awareness campaigns. Key broadcast segments are tailored to support local agriculture, horticulture, weather forecasting for hilly areas, educational development, and community welfare. Reaching local listeners across its terrestrial 103.7 FM coverage area as well as a worldwide audience via digital HLS streaming on the official Prasar Bharati and NewsOnAir platforms, the station continues to uphold its noble motto 'Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaya' (For the happiness of many, for the welfare of many). It remains a vital public media institution dedicated to preserving Himachali culture and fostering civic engagement.
