📖 About

RTB Pilihan FM is a major multilingual public service radio station in Brunei Darussalam, operated by state broadcaster Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB). Originally launching its dedicated multilingual service on January 1, 1996, Pilihan FM holds the historical distinction of being the Sultanate's first 24-hour English-language radio network. Operating out of the RTB Broadcasting Complex in Kampung Sungai Akar, Bandar Seri Begawan, the station embodies its slogan 'Simply Your Choice!' by delivering high-quality infotainment, international news, and diverse musical programming tailored to Brunei's multicultural society. The station's programming is structured around a unique trilingual schedule, broadcasting daily in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Nepali. This distinct language combination serves local residents, expatriates, international business professionals, and the Gurkha military community residing in Brunei. Programming includes comprehensive news bulletins, morning drive-time entertainment, health and lifestyle features, global news from international broadcast partners, and interviews. Its musical offerings span international pop hits, evergreen classic oldies, contemporary Chinese pop (Mandopop), and traditional as well as modern Nepali songs. Broadcasting terrestrially across Brunei Darussalam on dual frequencies—95.9 FM for the Brunei-Muara and Tutong districts and 96.9 FM for the Belait and Temburong districts—RTB Pilihan FM also provides continuous digital streaming globally via the RTB GO web and mobile applications as well as HLS live stream feeds. As part of RTB's public service mandate, Pilihan FM serves as a vital bridge connecting Brunei's diverse international and linguistic communities with government advisories, regional updates, and top-tier entertainment.
