RTB Pelangi FM

📖 About

RTB Pelangi FM is Brunei's flagship youth-oriented public service radio station, operated by the state broadcaster Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB). Officially launched on February 23, 1995, the network was created to serve teenagers, students, and young adults across the Sultanate. Based out of the RTB headquarters and the RTB Sungai Akar Broadcasting Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan, Pelangi FM has grown into one of the country's most widely listened-to radio stations, known for its dynamic mix of music, interactive discussions, and youth development programming. Broadcasting in both Malay and English, Pelangi FM's daily schedule is designed around a ratio of 60% music and 40% infotainment and interactive segments. The programming lineup features contemporary Top 40 local, regional (Irama Melayu/K-Pop/Asian pop), and international pop hits alongside dedicated segments covering educational topics, health, entrepreneurship, religious guidance, and student life. Key station shows include morning drive-time entertainment, live interactive request blocks, call-in counseling and advice sessions, artist spotlights, and youth community talk shows. Terrestrially, RTB Pelangi FM reaches listeners across Brunei Darussalam via dual FM frequencies—91.4 MHz serving the capital and Brunei-Muara/Tutong/Temburong districts, and 91.0 MHz covering Kuala Belait and the southern region. Beyond traditional radio, the station streams globally via RTB's official digital platform, RTB GO, as well as high-quality AAC internet audio streams. Guided by its motto 'Penghibur Penggerak Minda' (Entertainer, Mind Mover), Pelangi FM continues to empower and entertain the young generation of Brunei.
