📖 About

Radio Pakistan Lahore is a historic regional station of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), serving Lahore and the Punjab region. It traces its origins to 16 December 1937, when the first medium-wave radio station in Lahore was inaugurated at the YMCA building by the then governor, Bert Emerson[citation:16]. The station became part of Radio Pakistan after independence in 1947 and was converted into the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) on 20 December 1972[citation:1][citation:6]. Today, Radio Pakistan Lahore broadcasts a mix of news, current affairs, talk programmes, music, cultural features, interviews, and public-service content in Urdu, English, and Punjabi[citation:13]. It operates multiple channels including AM 1332 (news and current affairs), FM 93 (community programming), and FM 101 (music)[citation:3][citation:8]. The station has played a significant role in Pakistan's broadcasting history and continues to inform, educate, and entertain listeners across the region.
