ZJB Radio Montserrat is the official government-owned public service radio station serving the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat and its widespread international diaspora. Founded initially in 1952 by Frank Delisle as a private venture operating from his home in Olveston, the station was formally nationalized by the government in 1957 to ensure structured public communication. Over the decades, ZJB has weathered extraordinary historical challenges, including relocating multiple times due to the devastating volcanic eruptions of the Soufrière Hills volcano that began in 1995, which forced the station to evacuate its former state-of-the-art facilities in Plymouth. Today, broadcasting from modern studios in Davy Hill, the station remains a critical lifeline for the island.
