📖 About

Zapotitlan Radio, widely recognized by its proud on-air motto 'La Voz de la Mixteca Oaxaqueña', is a community-focused internet radio station based out of the Bronx, New York. Established to serve as a vital cultural lifeline, the station bridges the geographic divide for the significant population of Mixtec and Oaxacan immigrants living in the United States. By preserving the linguistic, musical, and cultural traditions of Oaxaca, Zapotitlan Radio provides a welcoming, community-driven digital space that honors homeland roots while navigating life in New York City. The station's rich programming format is dedicated heavily to regional Mexican music, traditional folk sounds, and culturally resonant audio content. Listeners tuning in can enjoy an extensive and continuous rotation of classic romantic ballads, cumbias, tropical tunes, and regional hits from legendary artists and groups such as Los Caminantes, Los Bukis, Rigo Tovar, and Vagon Chicano. In addition to music, the station broadcasts specialized community announcements, cultural segments, and greetings that foster deep connections among families and diaspora members across different states and countries. Operating primarily as an online digital broadcaster without a traditional local FM or AM frequency dial, Zapotitlan Radio utilizes robust internet streaming infrastructure to reach a global audience.
