WVUD 91.3 FM is the non-commercial educational radio station of the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Known as The Voice of the University of Delaware, WVUD is operated by University of Delaware students, professional staff, and community members. The station serves the University of Delaware, the city of Newark, and the broader Delaware community while providing students with hands-on broadcasting and radio production experience. WVUD features a freeform and eclectic programming format that can include alternative, rock, indie, folk, jazz, blues, soul, rhythm and blues, classical, experimental, roots, specialty and other forms of music, along with student programming, community-oriented shows, talk programming and local sports coverage. The station broadcasts on 91.3 FM and also provides HD Radio services, including The Basement on HD2 and Henscast on HD3. WVUD first went on the air on October 4, 1976, originally using the WXDR call sign, and adopted the WVUD call sign in 1992. The station has become a long-running part of University of Delaware campus life and the Delaware college radio community.
