Whisky Soul

📖 About

Whisky Soul is a specialized independent internet radio station broadcasting from Waterbury, Connecticut. Dedicated entirely to what is often described as 'The Sweeter Side of Soul,' the station focuses deeply on the rich, textured sounds of 1960s and early 1970s sweet soul. Rather than focusing strictly on predictable, overplayed chart hits, Whisky Soul has carved out a unique niche for connoisseurs by curating rare soul gems, mid-tempo rhythms, Northern soul cuts, blue-eyed soul, beat ballads, low rider oldies, and sunshine pop rarities. Launched in January 2009 on the Live365 streaming platform, the station delivers an authentic time-capsule listening experience. A distinctive feature of its programming is the inclusion of original 1960s commercial advertisements and station jingles interspersed between tracks, which immerses the audience completely in the era's mid-century broadcast aesthetic. The meticulously assembled playlists highlight everything from legendary group harmonies to obscure local singles that define the golden age of analog soul music. Catering to dedicated crate-diggers, vinyl enthusiasts, and fans of classic rhythm and blues, Whisky Soul operates entirely as a digital broadcasting entity. By bypassing traditional terrestrial constraints, the station reaches an international audience of soul music lovers via online directory platforms, mobile applications, and web streaming portals. It remains a beloved, curator-driven destination for anyone seeking uncompromised, deep-cut soul music paired with vintage broadcast nostalgia.
