📖 About

Star 92.7 (call sign KTRX) is a prominent commercial Top 40 / Contemporary Hit Radio station licensed to Dickson, Oklahoma, and serving the greater Lake Texoma region, Ardmore, and surrounding Southern Oklahoma communities. Originally signing on in June 2001, the station initially broadcast a rock-oriented format reflecting its call sign meaning 'Texoma Rocks.' In May 2014, the station underwent a complete station rebrand and format shift, launching as 'Star 92.7' with an adult contemporary and Top 40 focus, famously kicking off its new era with 'Counting Stars' by OneRepublic. Owned and operated by Stephens Media Group (via SMG-Ardmore, LLC), Star 92.7 maintains a strong presence across Southern Oklahoma by blending hot contemporary hits with popular syndicated weekend shows and local community features. The station's broadcast schedule mixes energetic music programming with mainstream syndicated staples such as American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, establishing itself as the go-to station for modern pop and chart-topping hits in the region. Operating alongside sister stations under the Stephens Media Group umbrella in Ardmore, Star 92.7 reaches listeners through over-the-air FM broadcasts on 92.7 MHz as well as digital live audio streams. Its primary studios and business offices are located at 1205 Northglen in Ardmore, Oklahoma, serving as a hub for local advertising, programming, and regional entertainment.
