Launched on October 14, 2021, by Stonecom Cookeville, LLC, the station was created to fill a major void for dedicated sports broadcasting across Putnam County and neighboring communities. It quickly established itself as an essential audio destination for local sports fans looking for comprehensive professional commentary, national analysis, and hyper-localized game coverage. The station's daily programming features an engaging blend of high-profile nationally syndicated sports talk personalities and localized content. Listeners can tune in to hear popular broadcasts and commentary from leading hosts such as Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen, Doug Gottlieb, and Paul Finebaum, providing deep dives into professional leagues and collegiate athletics. In addition to national coverage, Sports Radio 104.7 heavily emphasizes regional sports culture by broadcasting local high school games and regional college play-by-play matchups, uniting fans around hometown teams. Operated under the umbrella of Stonecom Cookeville from its studios at Stonecom Way, the station leverages advanced HD Radio subchannel architecture alongside its primary FM translator to ensure robust signal clarity across the region. Distributed digitally via the station's dedicated web portal and streaming platforms like the UC Now network, Sports Radio 104.7 successfully delivers continuous, high-energy sports entertainment to listeners on traditional radio dials and connected digital devices alike.
