Sleepy Hollow Radio

📖 About

Sleepy Hollow Radio (SHR) is an innovative, student-run online radio station operating out of Sleepy Hollow High School in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, New York. Officially launched in September 2020 with foundational grant funding from the Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns, the station was developed to give middle and high school students hands-on experience in journalism, audio engineering, media production, and creative broadcasting under the faculty supervision of mathematics teacher Michael Frank. Operating as a BMI-licensed digital station, Sleepy Hollow Radio broadcasts a diverse, 24/7 lineup that reflects the energetic spirit and broad tastes of the student body. Its programming includes student-hosted talk shows, high school sports coverage, literary readings, original radio dramas, community interviews, and varied music blocks ranging from indie rock, classic rock, and pop to R&B and Latin rhythms. In addition to serving as a creative hub for student podcasters and DJs, Sleepy Hollow Radio plays an active role in civic engagement. The station regularly highlights local non-profit organizations, promotes community events across the Tarrytowns, and provides students with a real-world platform to develop communication skills, share local stories, and entertain a global audience.
