Saint-Pierre et Miquelon La 1ère

📖 About

Saint-Pierre et Miquelon La 1ère is a prominent French public-service local radio station serving the French overseas collectivity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, located off the eastern coast of Canada. Originating back to early local broadcasting efforts established around 1930, the station has evolved through several historical iterations—including Radio Saint-Pierre and RFO (Radio France Outre-mer)—before becoming an integral part of the France Télévisions public network. Throughout its history, it has served as an essential auditory lifeline and cultural pillar for the archipelago's residents. The station's comprehensive daily programming grid features a rich blend of localized news bulletins, current affairs talk shows, cultural features, entertainment programs, and music blocks. Broadcasting entirely in the French language under the unifying slogan 'Tous première', the station caters to the unique community identity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, addressing local economic developments, regional fishing heritage, weather updates, and territorial events while keeping listeners connected with broader national perspectives from mainland France. Headquartered on Rue Gloannec in Saint-Pierre, the station transmits terrestrially on its signature 99.9 MHz FM frequency across the islands. In addition to its terrestrial coverage, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon La 1ère embraces modern digital infrastructure, offering live web streaming via Infomaniak servers, companion mobile applications, and active social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, ensuring global access for the diaspora and interested audiences worldwide.
