Real 92.7 (WASU-LP) is a vibrant, student-run educational radio station licensed to Albany State University, broadcasting from the campus in Albany, Georgia. Operating out of the Broadcast Center inside the Mass Communication Department at the Billy C. Black building on the university's East Campus, the station serves as both an indispensable training ground for aspiring student broadcasters and an essential cultural outlet for southwest Georgia. Recognizing its profound community and educational impact, WASU was honored as the prestigious Black College Radio Station of the Year in 2006. The station's diverse programming format is uniquely structured to cater to a broad demographic, transitioning smoothly through various musical eras and cultural interests throughout the day. Listeners tuning in during daytime hours are treated to sophisticated smooth jazz blocks, which later transition into insightful local talk and interview programming during the late afternoon.
