Radio Bahrain 96.5 FM

📖 About

Radio Bahrain 96.5 FM is the premier and oldest national English-language radio station in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with broadcast roots tracing back to 1977. Originally operating under state media bodies before transitioning into the modern Radio Bahrain Company (RBC)—a portfolio entity of Mumtalakat, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain—the station has evolved into a vital cultural and media anchor for both locals and the diverse expatriate community across the region. Operating from its headquarters in Manama, Radio Bahrain combines decades of broadcasting legacy with a contemporary, commercially driven outlook. The station features a dynamic format centered around Top 40 hits, current chart-toppers, adult contemporary music, pop, and lively talk programming. Its daily broadcast schedule is hosted by popular local and international on-air personalities, delivering high-energy morning shows, midday entertainment segments, drive-time features, interactive listener contests like 'What's The Word?', and up-to-date global and local news updates. By balancing international chart music with culturally relevant local announcements and community engagement initiatives, Radio Bahrain serves as an essential bridge connecting listeners to the heartbeat of the Kingdom. Broadcasting terrestrially on 96.5 FM across Bahrain (after switching from its historic 101.0 FM frequency in 2007), the station also reaches a massive global audience through high-quality 256 kbps MP3 digital audio streaming and official mobile applications for iOS and Android. Supported by an extensive ecosystem spanning web portals, social media platforms, and on-ground brand activations, Radio Bahrain 96.5 continues to define English-language radio standards in the Arabian Gulf.
