Pop! Radio 92.1 and 104.5

📖 About

Pop! Radio 92.1 and 104.5 (broadcast via WFBG 1290 AM) is a contemporary hit radio (CHR) station licensed to Altoona, Pennsylvania, and owned by Seven Mountains Media. WFBG has a remarkably rich history, originally first licensed on July 23, 1924, to the William F. Gable Co. (owner of Gable's department store) as one of the region's earliest pioneering outlets, historically renowned as 'The Voice of the Alleghenies'. Over its century-long existence, the station has evolved through multiple formats, ranging from its influential decades as a premier Top 40 powerhouse and subsequent news/talk iterations, before shifting into its modern incarnation. In March 2023, the station rebranded significantly as Pop! Radio, adopting a dynamic Top 40/CHR format playing current mainstream pop hits and popular throwbacks. Its broadcast reach covers the Altoona–Johnstown and Central Pennsylvania markets through a robust multi-signal simulcast network. This includes its primary AM frequency, FM translator 104.5 W283DI in Altoona, and sister repeater station 92.1 WJHT in Johnstown, allowing the station to blanket the region with high-energy pop music, localized updates, and popular pop culture programming. Operated under the Southern Belle Media Family umbrella of Seven Mountains Media, Pop! Radio combines its heritage legacy with a modern digital footprint. Listeners can access the station via traditional AM and FM translator dials, its official web stream at mypopradio.com, or dedicated mobile applications, making it a staple for young adults and hit music enthusiasts throughout Central Pennsylvania.
