Particle FM is an independent, DIY community internet radio station based in San Diego, California, founded in 2021 by DJ, producer, and organizer Chris Gonzalez (known as Atrevido) alongside a collective of local artists and music enthusiasts. The station was established to serve as an inclusive platform and cultural intersection for underrepresented artists, placing a special focus on amplifying voices from women, LGBTQ+, Black, Latinx, Asian, Indigenous, and other marginalized communities. Through its eclectic programming and commitment to grassroots underground culture, Particle FM has grown into a vibrant creative hub within the region's electronic music scene. The station's programming offers a deeply diverse, exploratory mix of sonic styles, specializing heavily in underground electronic music, ambient soundscapes, techno, experimental cuts, downtempo grooves, and cross-genre mixes. Rather than relying on rigid commercial formatting, Particle FM showcases resident DJs and special guest curators who host unique recurring shows—such as On Patrol, Modern Heart, and Futzin'—exploring niche audio journeys, thematic mixtapes, and live sessions.
