Mix 99.5

📖 About

Mix 99.5 (call sign: WMAG) is a commercial adult contemporary radio station licensed to High Point, North Carolina, and serving the entire Piedmont Triad region, including Greensboro and Winston-Salem. The station has a long history on the dial, originating in 1946 as WMFR-FM on 97.7 MHz before shifting to its current 99.5 MHz frequency in 1947. For decades, it operated as a sister station to WMFR before being acquired by Voyager Communications in 1982, when it adopted the legendary 'Magic 99.5' branding with an adult contemporary format. After subsequent corporate acquisitions by AMFM Broadcasting and later Clear Channel Communications (now iHeartMedia), the station officially rebranded as Mix 99.5 in December 2020. The station's programming format is centered around mainstream adult contemporary music, playing a popular blend of soft rock hits and familiar favorites from the 1980s, 1990s, and today. WMAG is widely celebrated across North Carolina for its seasonal tradition of flipping to all-Christmas music throughout November and December, serving as 'The Triad's Christmas Station' until Christmas Day. In addition to its continuous music rotation, the station features prominent syndicated evening programming, carrying the nationally renowned overnight call-in and dedication show hosted by Delilah. Broadcasting from studios located on Pai Park in Greensboro, North Carolina, WMAG transmits with a maximum Class C power of 100,000 watts from a tower located in Randleman, allowing its signal to cover a vast portion of central North Carolina. Alongside its primary terrestrial FM broadcast and HD radio capabilities, Mix 103.3—mirroring WMAG's digital distribution—is readily accessible online worldwide via the iHeartRadio platform and mobile applications.
