📖 About

Mix 103 (KSBZ, 103.1 FM) is a commercial hot adult contemporary and Top 40 radio station licensed to serve Sitka, Alaska. Originally established and signing on the air on October 18, 1990, the station initially operated for decades under classic rock formats (such as 'Z-103' and 'Rock 103'). In January 2020, a major programming realignment shifted its format to hot adult contemporary under the 'Mix 103' moniker, mirroring its Juneau counterpart Mix 106 to better serve listeners across Sitka and southeast Alaska with contemporary pop hits. The station features an energetic music format focused on current pop favorites, modern chart-topping hits, and dynamic adult contemporary selections. Alongside its music rotation, Mix 103 delivers essential local community programming, statewide news updates, weather reports, and interactive contests designed to keep residents informed across the rugged Alaskan panhandle. Its curated playlist features major mainstream artists, capturing a broad listener demographic looking for upbeat daily audio entertainment. Owned and operated by Alaska Broadcast Communications (operating within the Alaska First Media network), KSBZ broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 3,100 watts. In addition to its terrestrial FM coverage in Sitka, the station streams its live signal globally via digital platforms and internet audio directories, bridging the remote community with worldwide audiences.
