Metal Tavern Radio

📖 About

Metal Tavern Radio is an independent, online-only heavy metal, hard rock, and extreme metal radio station operating out of Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 2012 by founder and program director DJ Anubis (James Corprew), the station originated from a dedicated music review blog established in 2010. Created as an underground haven for heavy music enthusiasts, Metal Tavern Radio champions unsigned acts, underground extreme subgenres, and independent record labels while bypassing corporate mainstream playlists. The station features a continuous, 24/7 digital stream encompassing heavy metal, thrash, death metal, black metal, doom, classic rock, and hard rock. Beyond automated music rotation, Metal Tavern Radio produces rich community content, including weekly album reviews, artist interviews, and specialty podcast streams like 'The Ghouls of Midnight', 'Action Film Autopsy', and 'Kaiju Unlimited'. Co-hosted by DJ Anubis and DJ Neko, these shows explore the intersection of extreme music, horror films, cult cinema, martial arts movies, and kaiju monster culture. Broadcasting globally from Baltimore via digital streaming infrastructure and YouTube platforms, Metal Tavern Radio serves a international fanbase of headbangers and pop-culture purists. It maintains active engagement with its community through dedicated video reactions, monthly top album rundowns, and interactive social channels, cementing its position as a key voice in underground media.
