📖 About

Live 105.5 (call sign: KFYV) is a commercial Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR) / Top 40 radio station licensed to Ojai, California, and proudly serving the Oxnard–Ventura media market. First signing on the air on January 4, 1972, under the call sign KOVA, the frequency has undergone several format transitions over the decades—ranging from easy listening and urban contemporary ('K-Mix 106') to country and soft adult contemporary—before being successfully relaunched as 'Live 105.5' under Gold Coast Broadcasting in 2003. To optimize its regional coverage across Ventura County, the station utilizes booster transmitters including KFYV-FM1 in Oak View and KFYV-FM2 in Ventura. The station's programming is meticulously tailored to target contemporary music fans, appealing heavily to adults aged 25 to 54 with a heavy rotation of pop, chart-topping hits, and modern mainstream tracks. Its daily lineup features high-profile syndicated and local programming, including the popular morning show Brooke & Jeffrey, midday broadcasts with Katrina, and afternoon drive-time entertainment hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Additionally, the station carries the widely popular weekend countdown show American Top 40, keeping listeners engaged with current music trends and celebrity pop culture. Owned and operated by Point Broadcasting (Gold Coast Broadcasting LLC), Live 105.5 stands as a prominent fixture in Southern California's local broadcast landscape. Alongside its primary terrestrial FM signal and regional boosters, the station expands its reach globally through official digital streaming on its website and mobile applications, ensuring continuous connectivity for fans of today's best hit music across the Golden State and beyond.
