📖 About

WTWB (1570 AM), branded on-air as 'La Raza 92.7 FM 95.5 FM & 1570 AM', is a commercial Spanish-language radio station licensed to Auburndale, Florida, and serving the Lakeland, Winter Haven, and broader Central Florida region. First signing on the air on October 10, 1956, WTWB boasts a long history in Polk County, originally operating as a country and gospel music station during the mid-to-late 20th century. In more recent decades, the station transitioned into a dedicated Spanish Regional Mexican format, serving Central Florida's growing Hispanic community under the license ownership of Carpenter's Home Church, Inc. Programming on La Raza centers on an energetic Regional Mexican music format, playing popular genres such as mariachi, ranchera, norteño, cumbia, tierra caliente, and corridos. Its broadcast schedule features a blend of traditional classic hits and contemporary Latin charts, showcasing iconic artists including Marco Antonio Solís, Los Bukis, Chalino Sánchez, Los Cadetes de Linares, Juan Gabriel, and Seto Vargas Y Sus Calentanos. In addition to music, the station broadcasts Spanish-language entertainment, community affairs, local news, and syndicated morning programs like 'El Show de Don Cheto'. Broadcasting on 1570 AM with an effective daytime power of 5,000 watts, WTWB operates as a Class D AM station. Because 1570 kHz is a Mexican clear-channel frequency, the station reduces its AM power to 13 watts at night to avoid skywave interference. To ensure full-fidelity 24/7 coverage across Polk and Hillsborough counties, WTWB co-broadcasts via two FM translator stations: W224CF at 92.7 MHz and W238CV at 95.5 MHz in Auburndale. Station offices and broadcast studios are located on Glenn Road in Auburndale, Florida, with digital streams available worldwide via online radio aggregators.
