KXTN 1350 AM - Tejano

📖 About

KXTN (1350 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to San Antonio, Texas, serving the vibrant San Antonio metropolitan area with a dedicated Tejano music format. Widely recognized by its slogan 'KXTN 1350 AM Tejano & Proud', the station broadcasts a rich blend of classic Tejano anthems, cumbias, conjunto music, and fresh new hits from emerging artists. It serves as a vital cultural lifeline for the Hispanic community in South Texas, celebrating a musical heritage that defines the region. The station's lineage dates back to its initial launch in 1946 under the historic call sign KCOR by pioneering broadcaster Raoul A. Cortez. Over decades of broadcasting evolution, the frequency has been a cornerstone for Spanish-language and Tejano programming. After years of operation across different frequencies and digital subchannels—including a long tenure on the FM dial—operations were acquired by Latino Media Network, which took official operational control in late 2023. This transition reaffirmed the station's deep-rooted commitment to preserving and promoting Tejano culture under minority ownership. Targeting loyal generations of Tejano music fans, local families, and cultural enthusiasts, KXTN combines engaging on-air personalities, community event announcements, and specialized musical programs. Listeners can tune into the station through traditional AM receivers, digital streaming partners like iHeartRadio, and mobile platforms, ensuring that the heartbeat of Tejano music remains accessible worldwide.
