KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio is Seattle's NPR news station and an independent, nonprofit public media organization serving Seattle, the Puget Sound region, and Western Washington. KUOW provides trusted local, regional, national, and international news and information, with programming covering politics, government, education, health, environment, economy, immigration, policing, culture, arts, and the issues shaping life in the Pacific Northwest. The station also produces original journalism, podcasts, interviews, news magazines, community programs, and in-depth conversations designed to broaden conversations and deepen understanding. KUOW has been broadcasting from the Puget Sound region since 1952 and is one of the nation's founding NPR member stations. KUOW is a service of the University of Washington and provides live radio streaming online as well as over-the-air public radio service.
