KSHP 1400

📖 About

KSHP (1400 AM) is a commercial broadcast radio station licensed to North Las Vegas, Nevada, serving the greater Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area. The station originally signed on the air in 1954 under the call sign KBMI, operating out of Henderson, Nevada. Over the decades, the station underwent several call letter and identity changes, broadcasting as KVEG starting in 1978 and later KFMS in 1986. In the mid-1990s, the station aired children's programming affiliated with Aahs World Radio as KKDD before officially adopting the KSHP call sign on October 29, 1996, standing for 'K-Shop'. Today, the station is owned and operated by William H. Pollack through Las Vegas Broadcasting LLC. Programming on KSHP is built on a unique hybrid brokered format that combines sports talk with the popular 'Radio Shopping Show'. The Radio Shopping Show allows listeners in the Las Vegas area to save between 40% and 70% on local dining, entertainment, auto services, hotel stays, and retail certificates. Outside of shopping show blocks, KSHP features sports programming affiliated with Sports Byline USA, alongside live play-by-play coverage for major regional sports teams, including USC Trojans college sports and Los Angeles Rams games. Broadcasting with 1,000 watts of power from a Class C AM transmitter in North Las Vegas, KSHP covers the entire Clark County area. To enhance urban reception across the valley, KSHP also broadcasts via FM translator K296HP at 107.1 MHz. Station offices and broadcast studios are located at 2400 South Jones Boulevard in Las Vegas. In addition to terrestrial AM and FM broadcasts, KSHP reaches listeners online through web streaming and digital media aggregators.
