KROS Radio

📖 About

KROS Radio is a historic, locally owned full-service commercial radio station broadcasting from Clinton, Iowa. Having first hit the airwaves in 1941, the station has served as a vital media cornerstone for Clinton and the surrounding communities along the Mississippi River for over eight decades. Over the years, KROS has built a deeply trusted legacy by focusing on hyper-local community connection, delivering essential local news updates, regional weather forecasts, agricultural reports, and comprehensive coverage of local high school and college sports. In addition to its robust news and sports offerings, KROS features an engaging adult contemporary and classic hits music format designed to appeal to a broad demographic of listeners. The programming lineup blends entertaining talk segments, community interviews, and listener-favorite programs with music spanning multiple decades. To expand its reach and improve signal clarity for its audience, the station added an FM broadcast translator (105.9 FM) on November 12, 2014, allowing it to simulcast its traditional AM programming across both analog bands. Operated under KROS Broadcasting, Inc., the station remains deeply embedded in the civic fabric of eastern Iowa. It actively promotes local events, regional business growth through programs like 'Grow Clinton This Morning', and public announcements. By combining traditional terrestrial broadcasting with online streaming capabilities, KROS continues to serve both longtime local residents and out-of-town listeners who wish to stay connected to the Clinton community.
