Hot Wax Radio

📖 About

Hot Wax Radio (HotWaxRadio.com) is an independent internet radio station dedicated to showcasing original and independent recording artists from all realms of rock and roll, alternative, and indie music. Operating as a platform focused on music discovery beyond the mainstream, the station curates diverse blocks of programming including the Morning Mix, Afternoon Tricks, and overnight Rock Nights. It also features specialty blocks like Weekend Roots N Blues and Technotronica House, providing an eclectic auditory experience for rock enthusiasts globally. Launched originally on June 21, 2009, under the name IRMG (Independent Radio for Multiplayer Games), the station first established a pioneering presence within the online virtual world of Second Life to bring indie music in-world. Over the years, it expanded its digital reach while maintaining its virtual roots, with program director Patrick Rule—widely known as 'DJ Trick'—bringing decades of music industry experience to the platform. The station's distinctive programming model relies on human curation rather than automated algorithms, regularly featuring artist submissions and hosting live interactive sets. Targeting passionate fans of underground and independent music, Hot Wax Radio bridges the gap between unsigned or indie-label musicians and a worldwide audience. Listeners can tune in 24 hours a day through various online streaming options, third-party software players, and digital radio platforms, making it an enduring digital sanctuary for independent rock culture.
