HIS Radio WRTP

📖 About

HIS Radio WRTP (88.5 FM) is a listener-supported Christian adult contemporary radio station licensed to Franklinton, North Carolina, and serving the Raleigh–Durham research triangle area alongside eastern North Carolina. The station features an uplifting, family-friendly musical blend of contemporary Christian hits, inspirational messages, and positive community programming designed to encourage listeners in their faith. Its studios are conveniently located on Falls of Neuse Road in north Raleigh, acting as a central hub for regional production and listener engagement. The station operates under the ownership of the Radio Training Network (RTN), a prominent broadcast ministry known for managing high-quality Christian radio networks across the southeastern United States. Originally signing on in 1994, the station has evolved significantly over the decades, moving to the 88.5 FM frequency in 2005 and later shifting its official city of license to Franklinton in 2014. Over the years, WRTP has expanded its footprint through a synchronized network of low-power translators and HD subchannel simulcasts—such as WCCE 90.1 FM in Buies Creek—stretching coverage from Chapel Hill to Greenville. Targeting families, local church communities, and contemporary Christian music enthusiasts, HIS Radio WRTP provides engaging on-air shows, uplifting daily encouragement, and wide community outreach. Through its combination of terrestrial FM broadcasting, HD digital signals, mobile application integration, and continuous live streaming, the station remains a steadfast spiritual and cultural fixture throughout the Research Triangle and surrounding regions.
