Fox Sports Radio Redding

📖 About

Fox Sports Radio Redding (KNRO 1400 AM & 103.9 FM) is a commercial sports talk radio station licensed to Redding, California, serving the Redding and Red Bluff areas in the northern part of the state. Owned and operated by Stephens Media Group through licensee SMG-Redding, LLC, the station serves as an essential audio hub for sports fans across Shasta County and the surrounding Shasta Cascade region. It broadcasts a high-energy mix of national sports commentary, live game coverage, and up-to-the-minute scores, acting as the primary radio home for major professional sports enthusiasts in the area. The frequency has a rich broadcast history under various identities. Originally signing on the air in 1954 as KQMS, the frequency spent decades serving as a prominent local news and talk voice before undertaking several frequency and call-sign shifts. In August 2016, a strategic frequency swap brought the sports format and the KNRO call letters to the 1400 AM signal (alongside its FM translator on 103.9 MHz), solidifying its modern sports-focused positioning. Over the years, the station has established deep community roots through regional sports broadcasting, keeping local listeners connected to their favorite teams. Programming on KNRO heavily features premier national lineup offerings from Fox Sports Radio, including popular shows like The Herd with Colin Cowherd, The Dan Patrick Show, The Jim Rome Show, and overnight staples like The Ben Maller Show. In addition to national commentary, KNRO provides local play-by-play coverage for beloved regional and professional teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and the Oakland Athletics. Listeners can tune in through standard AM/FM radios, the official website stream, or mobile aggregation partners, making it an indispensable daily companion for sports culture in Northern California.
