Club 6400

📖 About

Club 6400 is a dedicated internet radio station based in Houston, Texas, that pays homage to the legendary 1980s Houston nightclub located at 6400 Richmond Avenue. The station specializes in recapturing the underground and alternative club culture of the 'Decade of Decadence,' spinning an immersive mix of retro electronic and dance genres. Its programming is heavily curated to feature classic sounds including new wave, synthpop, new beat, EBM (Electronic Body Music), industrial, Hi-NRG, italo disco, darkwave, and house classics. Founded by passionate DJs and music historians of the era—such as webmaster and DJ 'Static,' who began mixing in the early 1990s after spending the late 80s glued to specialty radio broadcasts—Club 6400 serves as a digital archive and living tribute. The station moves away from conventional mainstream pop rotations to focus deeply on extended 12-inch remixes, Razormaid mixes, and rare underground club anthems that defined an entire generation of nightlife. It acts as a vital cultural touchstone for listeners who lived through the golden era of alternative clubbing as well as younger generations discovering vintage synth-driven music. Operating entirely online, Club 6400 provides seamless 24/7 streaming capabilities through its official web platform and various international digital radio aggregators. Listeners can engage with special streaming components, check curated playlists, and connect with a like-minded global community of retro music enthusiasts through integrated social media channels and digital streaming links.
