📖 About

99.1 WFMK (99.1 FM) is a prominent commercial adult contemporary radio station licensed to East Lansing, Michigan, serving the greater Lansing radio market. Originally founded as WSWM in 1959 by John P. McGoff, the station transitioned through several ownership and call-sign changes before becoming WFMK under Robert G. Liggett Jr. in 1971. Over the decades, it has established itself as one of the region's enduring audio staples, pioneering an adult contemporary format that has remained a ratings leader in Mid-Michigan for nearly five decades. The station features a popular lineup of daily programming, including weekday morning shows like 'The Coffee' hosted by Scott Clow, mid-day slots with Michelle Heart, and afternoon drive-time broadcasts featuring long-time regional personality John Robinson. Additionally, WFMK syndicates the popular late-night program 'The John Tesh Radio Show'. Beyond its standard musical format focusing on adult hits from the 1980s to the present day, WFMK is widely known for its annual holiday tradition of transitioning to an all-Christmas music format continuously from mid-November through December. Owned and operated by Townsquare Media, WFMK broadcasts in HD radio and maintains a robust digital footprint through its official website, mobile apps for Android and iOS, and active community engagement initiatives. It continues to be a staple of local entertainment, offering weather updates, traffic reports, contests, and curated pop culture content tailored to the Lansing community.
