📖 About

106.7 KMX (call sign: WKMX-FM) is a prominent commercial contemporary hit radio (Top 40) station licensed to Enterprise, Alabama, and serving the Dothan metropolitan area and the wider Wiregrass region. Originally granted a construction permit to veterinarian Jones Wallace Miller, the station officially began broadcasting on November 27, 1974, operating with a robust 100,000 watts of effective radiated power. Over its decades on air, WKMX has transitioned through various ownerships, moving from its original local management to Styles Media Group (later Magic Broadcasting) in 2004, and subsequently to Gulf South Communications (operating as Digio Strategies). Its studios are currently located on Montgomery Highway in Dothan, Alabama. Programming-wise, 106.7 KMX focuses heavily on mainstream pop, contemporary hits, and upbeat entertainment targeting younger demographics across southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. The station features popular syndicated programming such as 'The Anna & Raven Show' during morning drive times, alongside localized contests, community events, and dynamic live air personality segments. Throughout its history, the station has established itself as a cultural anchor for young adult listeners in the Wiregrass region, even drawing notable historical attention in the early 2000s when it entered a high-profile trademark lawsuit regarding energy drink branding. As a core component of Gulf South Communications' local cluster, WKMX maintains a strong multi-platform presence combining traditional high-power FM broadcasting with digital streaming options, mobile device applications, and active social media engagement. It remains a primary destination for contemporary pop music enthusiasts in the region, delivering daily hit music, pop culture updates, and localized community promotions.
