📖 About

KBIG (104.3 FM), commercially known as 104.3 MYfm, is a leading commercial hot adult contemporary radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, and serving the entire Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. Owned and operated by iHeartMedia, the station broadcasts with a powerful signal from its primary transmitter site atop Mount Wilson, delivering widespread coverage across Southern California. Its popular musical programming features an upbeat mix of contemporary pop, rock, and familiar hits spanning from the 1990s through today. The station has a rich broadcast heritage, signing on the air on February 15, 1959, as KBIQ under the ownership of John H. Poole, initially simulcasting alongside its sister AM station. For its first several decades, the frequency was celebrated for its lush 'beautiful music' format featuring orchestral arrangements and instrumental covers before transitioning into soft adult contemporary in 1987. Over the following years, as musical tastes evolved and corporate ownership shifted through Bonneville International and Infinity Broadcasting, the station transitioned permanently into its modern hot adult contemporary format, adopting the MYfm moniker and becoming a dominant ratings powerhouse in the competitive Los Angeles radio market. Programming on 104.3 MYfm is heavily anchored by high-profile talent and engaging daily features, most notably serving as the radio home for the immensely popular morning drive program, Valentine in the Morning. Targeting contemporary adult listeners, working professionals, and families across Southern California, the station maintains a heavy cultural footprint through community events, digital platforms, and live streaming options. Listeners can tune in via traditional FM receivers, HD radio technology, the iHeartRadio platform, and various digital mobile apps.
