100.7 WZXL (call sign WZXL) is a prominent commercial mainstream and classic rock radio station licensed to Wildwood, New Jersey, serving the Atlantic City and Cape May radio markets across South Jersey. The station's history dates back to December 17, 1959, when it originally launched as WCMC-FM under the ownership of Francis J. Matrangola. Operating initially with modest power, the frequency underwent a series of technical upgrades and call letter adjustments, including a stint as WNBR from 1981 to 1986, before permanently adopting the WZXL call letters and launching its full-fledged rock music format that became a staple of the South Jersey shoreline. Long operated by Equity Communications in West Atlantic City, WZXL built a deep community footprint by airing popular regional morning radio programs, local news updates, live concert broadcasts, and community events such as the annual listener appreciation 'Bike Bash'. The station also serves as a regional sports broadcaster carrying Philadelphia Phillies baseball games. In December 2023, media conglomerate iHeartMedia officially finalized its acquisition of WZXL alongside sister stations WAYV, WZBZ, and WTTH, fully integrating the station into its national digital and broadcast portfolio. Broadcasting on 100.7 MHz with a Class B effective radiated power (ERP) of 38,000 watts, WZXL's signal extends from its transmitter near Swainton and the Garden State Parkway to cover Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties.
